Garforth Town are hosting 4 evenings of community football at their stadium on 21st, 23rd, 28th and 30th April. The next games on 30th April are Rangers U10 Girls vs Leeds Academy ko 6pm and Garforth Rangers U16 Boys vs Tingley ko 7pm. Entry is free. The clubhouse bar will be open.

Hearty congratulations to Garforth Neighbourhood Forum, the Save Parlington Campaign and our local councillors for their sustained campaigns against building houses on Green Belt land around Garforth and Aberford. We are not short of brown field sites in the Outer South East of Leeds so there was never any need to use farm land for much needed affordable housing. Thank you also to the Inspectors for showing LCC the error of their ways. We must all hope their recommendation is heeded.

10/09/2016 Local Airport’s Charter Flights Plan
The owners of the Leeds East Airport at Church Fenton, Tadcaster, have applied for an operator's licence by the Civil Aviation Authority. The airport plans to offer up to four flights a day to Cannes, Faro and Malaga from May 2017. Residents have raised concerns over aircraft noise and an increase in traffic congestion. A spokesman for the airport said there were no plans to introduce scheduled flights but the airfield would concentrate on a limited number of "VIP service" charter flights costing around £1,000 per person for a return ticket.
